Welcome To Wollaton Road Methodist Church!
Our Church was built in 1882 and in 1970 we undertook a radical scheme of modernisation, the first of the Beeston Methodist churches to do so. The minister at the time was Rev Stuart J Burgess (now retired), later to become Chairman of the York & Hull District and subsequently President of the Methodist Conference. Since that time further modernisation work has been carried out.
The main entrance to the building is on its South aspect approached along a slightly sloping but wheelchair-friendly paved area.
From the lobby area access can be made into both the schoolroom and the main worship hall.
The schoolroom is fully carpeted area and from it access is gained to the newly refurbished kitchen as well as to the new toilets with facilities for both babies and disabled people.
A wooden suspended ceiling covers the main worship area.
The floor is fully carpeted; there is a stage and a couple of small ancillary rooms. The individual chairs allow for total flexibility in seating arrangements for worship or other events such as concerts.
The building is fitted with an induction loop system for the enhancement of sound There is an electronic organ that is used chiefly at the evening services where our choir leads the singing.
The morning service provides for more informality and diversity of style with the main instrument being the piano with accompaniment from guitars and drums where appropriate.
All rooms are available for hire and are subject to conditions, to hire a room send an e-mail to roomhire@beestonmethodist.org.uk
